Description

The aim of the project was to bring together high-quality and scientifically valid texts and databases from edition and text-based early modern research projects in a joint repository and to archive them in the long term by means of persistent identifiers, taking citation into account (“trusted repository”). The documents are to be catalogued, indexed, made searchable and made available to the scientific community in a homogenized elementary format for subsequent use via download and defined interfaces (“web services”). In the initial phase, four edition projects will make their high-quality source materials or edition documents available for exemplary integration, with the aim of realizing a cooperative structure for document integration while maintaining the independence of the participating partners. To this end, the existing infrastructure of the Wolfenbüttel Digital Library will be expanded in order to provide authors and projects who wish to have a stable representation of their electronic editions of early modern texts via the HAB server with a reliable repository and an open access publication platform in accordance with the edition guidelines developed by the HAB on the basis of XML/TEI-P5. All texts aggregated here will be freely available under a CC license.
